According to 11 Alive News, On Wednesday, April 12th, Douglas County officials informed Fire Chief Roderic Jolivette of his termination. He has lost the battle to keep his job.

Jolivette was placed on administrative leave by county officials. At the time it was reported that a firefighter with a criminal history was hired. An additional investigation also found that the department had questionable hiring practices. Chief Jolivette has been on leave since February and will remain on administrative leave until May 1st when he is officially terminated.

Miles Allen, the current Deputy Fire Chief has been serving as an interim fire chief in Jolivette’s absence. Allen will continue to serve in the position until a permanent replacement has been selected by the county.
