Governor Brian Kempt announced a $1K year-end bonus for state, university, and public school employees during a press conference on Monday, December 18, according to the Associated Press.

The AP article states that “officials said the roughly 112,000 state and university employees would get the extra $1K by the end of the year”.

In addition to the year-end bonus, Kemp also announced the possibility of allocating 104 million dollars yearly for school security.

On Monday, December 18th, Trent North, the Superintendent of Douglas County Schools, sent an email to employees announcing their plan to distribute the funds to eligible employees in a separate check in January 2024.
