The Douglas County Flash has confirmed with Conn’s HomePlus stores that they will open in Douglasville. The chain will be located at the former Sears location at Arbor Place Mall.

It is currently scheduled to open on April 21, 2023. Although no grand opening events have been planned, an account executive from Conn’s stated that they “typically distribute gift cards and coupons on opening day”.

As previously reported, Conn’s Home Plus was founded over than 130 years ago. Conn’s started out as a small plumbing and heating company in Beaumont, Texas. It currently has over 160 stores in 15 southern states with over 1.5 billion in annual revenue and over 4100 employees.

Conn’s Home Plus is a home goods store that sells furniture, appliances, and consumer electronics. The company’s mission is “to elevate home life to home love”. They boast of providing high-quality products, next-day delivery, and personalized payment options including an in-house credit program.

Sears, the former occupant, arrived in Douglasville with the opening of Arbor Place Mall (6580 Douglas Blvd) in 1999. At the time, the retail chain had stores nationwide. According to the Marietta Daily Journal, Sears stores across the country began closing in 2019. The retail space that was once occupied by Sears, has remained unused since the chain was forced to close.
