On Friday, April 22, the Douglas County School system sent out information regarding their end-of-year testing schedule. Starting on Monday, April 25, students will sit down and take the Georgia Milestone Assessments (GMAS).

Elementary and Middle Schools testing will begin on Monday, April 25. Students in grades three through eight will be tested in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students in fifth and eighth grades only will also take Georgia Milestones Assessments in Science and Social Studies in addition to the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests.

High school students in grades nine through twelve will be taking their End of Pathway (EOPA) test during this week.

In addition to the EOPA, high schoolers will also take their End of Course and Advance Placement (AP) assessments starting on Monday, May 2 through 13th.

Here are some tips that will help prepare your child for testing:

  1. Go to bed early.
  2. Eat a good breakfast.
  3. Be prepared (charge those Chromebooks)!
  4. Listen carefully and follow instructions.
  5. LEAVE CELL PHONES AT HOME!!
